Greetings all:

 

I learned earlier yesterday evening that Lionel Taylor has passed. Lionel has been a fixture in the Eckington community for decades through his work at the Harry Thomas Recreation Center. Lionel spent countless hours being a role model and mentor for area youth and a steward of the recreation center.

 

Lionel ran many programs at the rec during his tenure as site Director and volunteer, most notably the world renown armature kickboxing program.

 

It's truly a sa d day for the community.

 

I'll pass along any information I receive on funeral arrangements.
